As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of UNICAMP and facing a local, regional, national and international socioeconomic and political scenario in which the dimension of social rights has been the target of policies that go against the promotion of those rights, the rector of UNICAMP, Professor José Tadeu Jorge, who also chairs the Association of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL) since 2013, in conjunction with faculty from the College of Education and professionals of the Division of Children and Complementary Education (DedIC/HRMD/UNICAMP), proposed the realization of the 1st International Congress on Early Childhood Education of UNICAMP and the 1st Congress of University Childcare Centers of Latin America and the Caribbean.
In defense of public, free, secular and quality education, that is socially endorsed in all its levels, stages and modalities, pondered on the important role of UNICAMP regarding the provision of Children Education to babies and children of its academic community, in a context where other universities have faced serious challenges in order to maintain their childcare centers.
The objective is that during these 04 days we can contribute to strengthen the dialogue on the actions and challenges that permeate the education of children: between researchers, education professionals, leaders, parents, and the community of Campinas metropolitan area, Brazil, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as members of other countries.
Early Childhood Education, in this event, will be discussed from the point of view of the triad “Policies, Research, and Pedagogical Practices” and, from that perspective, University Childcare Centers will be highlighted as a form of customer service, interlaced by their respective dimensions.
